SUBJECT: PROPOSED AMENdmENTS TO THE FIRE DEPARTMENT PENSION FUND
ORDINANCE - BMC S 2.92.330 (C) AND (D); AND REPEAL OF
SUBSECTION E.
Please refer the following proposed ordinances to
whichever'co~ittee you deem appropriate:
AMENDMENTS TO ORDINANCE ~: INCREASES IN M _ONT~Ly ~T.?~ANCE PAID
BY '~ FI~ D~mAR~ PENSION FUND.
Backgro~d:
The relief and pension fund was established for me~ers
of the City Fire Department who did not join the Public
· ~ployees Retirement System (PERS). The proposed
~en~ents to BMC ~ 2.92.330 will provide a 10%
increase in monthly benefits to retired me~ers of the
fund or their widows and will consolidate references to
~ ~.~ ~/~~~~ increases previously granted in prior years.
\ If approved, the increase is scheduled to go into
effect January 1, 1992.
