(Proposed) AN ORDINANCE REPEALING SUBSECTION L. OF SECTION 12.56.050 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO SOUND FROM VEHICLES ADJACENT TO PARKS.
Background: THE REPEAL OF THIS ORDINANCE IS REQUIRED BECAUSE THE SUBJECT
MATTER IS COVERED IN SECTION 9.24.080 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE,
AND SECTION 27007 OF THE CALIFORNIA VEHICLE CODE. THE VEHICLE
CODE PREEMPTS LOCAL REGULATION IN THE SAME AREAS.

Please refer the following proposed repeal of an ordinance to
whichever, committee you deem appropriate:
1) SOUND FROM VEHICLES ADJACENT TO PARKS.
BackgrOUnd:
The repeal of this ordinance is required because
the subject matter is covered in Section 9.24.080
of the Municipal Code, and Section 27007 of the
0 ~ California Vehicle Code. The Vehicle Code preempts
local regulation in the same, areas.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the-City of
Bakersfield as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsection L. of Section 12.56'.050 of the Bakersfield
Municipal Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2.
This Ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the
City Charter provisions and shall become effective thirty (30)
days from and after the date of its passage.
