LEGISLATIVE AND LITIGATION COMMITTEE

1. Proposition 167 - State Taxes. Initiative Statute. (Trudy Slater)
After discussion, Committee members felt that voters should be encouraged
to go to the polls to vote on Proposition 167 as it would have an impact on
nearly all citizens. Majority Legislative and Litigation Report No. 6
encourages voters to review Proposition 167 to decide for themselves if it is
in their best interests. Minority Legislative and Litigation Report No. 7
concurs with Report No. 6 and adds that Patricia Smith opposes Proposition
167.
2. Proposition 156:- Passenger Rail and Clean Air Bond Act of 1992 (Trudy Slater)
The Committee encourages voters to continue to support public
transportation bond measures and in Legislative and Litigation Report No. 5
recommends the City Council accept the report and support Proposition 156.
