DeMond, Chair Staff: John Stinson Lynn Edwards ~ Mark Salvaggio (absent) AGENDA SUMMARY REPORT PERSONNEL COMMITTEE Monday, November 9, 1992 4:00 p.m. · City Manager's Conference Room 1. Update: Health Care Benefits (John Stinson). The'Committee met with Herb Kaighan, Vice President of Miller Mason and Dickenson our health care consultant to review the Phase I Audit and Evaluation report. Mr. Kaighan reviewed the report with the Committee and addressed specific questions which were discussed with th~ Joint Employee/City Insurance Committee. Mr. Kaighan. indicated that the report represented a review of the City's current health benefit programs and their viability. Based on his review he said the City may not want to choose to rebid.the health benefit plans~ if we are satisfied with the service and the increases in cost are within an acceptable range. The Personnel Committee discusSed options presented in the report such as employee eligibil!ty and Preexisting condition clauses, possible restructuring the medical plan and deductibles, carving out prescription drugs and mental health from the plan and coordination of benefits. Mr. Kaighan will be meeting with both committees again in the next few weeks and a Council workshop is pla.nned for the December 9th. 2, Set Next Meeting Tentative Date:~November 30 In-Attendance: Chair Patricia J.
