ROLL CALL Present: Absent: Chairperson Mishoe, Agency Members Anthony (seated at 4:016 p.m.), Arriola (seated a 4:03 p.m.), Davenport, Prince, Raphael, Schroeder None ACTION TAKEN PUBLIC STATEMENT The following individuals spoke regarding the 10% Tax Increment: Walter Williams; Isaiah Compton; and Marvin Dean. Chairperson Mishoe introduced new Economic Development Director Donna Kunz. REPORTS Oral report by the Stanford Group regarding City Center Relocation Issues. Assistant City Manager Christensen introduced John Moloy, Capital Vision Equities, who gave a brief report regarding Iow income tax credits and affordable senior housing, he introduced Celie Stanford and Sharon Bates, of Stanford Group, who provided additional information regarding the relocation process and answered questions. Arriola requested staff make sure Spanish translation is available. Mishoe suggested the notices be in large print to make it easier to read. b. Oral report regarding the Ice Skating Facility. Executive Director Tandy gave a brief report. NAT NAT 286 Bakersfield, California, February 26, 2001 - Page 2 REPORTS continued Mishoe requested Executive Director Tandy provide the overall cost of the facility verses the amount of private money being donated to the project, including land, and if short, where the additional money will come from. Arriola asked if the community group that will be raising the donated funds are in agreement to this project. Executive Director Tandy stated a representative could be available to address the Agency. NEW BUSINESS Southeast Project Area Committee (PAC) request regarding 10% of tax increment on proposed City Center Project. Mishoe requested staff look for alternatives for assistance to the Southeast PAC to be brought back at the next Agency meeting. Motion by Davenport, seconded by Arriola, to recommend the City fund a Charrett Process for the Southeast Project Area and the Agency to refund to the City $32,000 when the tax increment is received. Anthony recognized Marvin Dean, Vice Chairperson, Southeast PAC, who stated agreement to the motion.
