A RESOLUTION OF BAKERSFIELD CITY COUNCIL APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR THE GREENFIELD MULTIPURPOSE FACILITY WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of California have approved a grant for the Greenfield Multi-purpose Public Facility (herein "facility" or "project"); and WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the grant project and setting up necessary procedures; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks and Recreation require a Grantee to certify, by resolution, the approval of an application before submission of said application to the State; and WHEREAS, the Recreation and Parks Department for the City of Bakersfield (herein "Grantee") has agreed to act as Grantee and be a conduit for the grant funds which will be appropriated to the Greenfield Union School District (herein "Sub-Grantee"); and WHEREAS, it is the intent of City and Sub-Grantee that the construction, maintenance, and ownership of the facility, and all aspects incident to ownership, shall rest solely with Sub-Grantee; and WHEREAS, Grantee will enter into a contract with the State of California for subject project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated herein. That the Council of the City of Bakersfield approves the filing of an application for local assistance for the above project; and That the Council of the City of Bakersfield certifies that Grantee understands the assurances and certification in the application form; and That the Council of the City of Bakersfield certifies that Grantee has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project; and -- Page 1 of 3 Pages - That the Council of the City of Bakersfield certifies that Grantee has reviewed and understands the General Provisions contained in the Project Contract shown in the Procedural Guide; and That the Council of the City of Bakersfield appoints the City Manager or his designee as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to, applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project. --oo0oo - -- Page 2 of 3 Pages - '~R!GiNAL I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on MAR 1 ~.
