RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION ADDING TAXICAB FEES TO THE COST
RECOVERY SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Chapter 3.70 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code authorizes the
establishment of fees under the cost recovery system; and
WHEREAS, City Council adopted Resolution No. 60-98 adopting a Master Fee
Schedule; and
WHEREAS, on September 9, 1998, City Council amended Chapter 550 of the
Bakersfield Municipal Code relating to taxicabs and in so doing, referred all mention of
taxicab related fees to the cost recovery system;
WHEREAS, in order to continue to charge a fee for the transfer of a driver permit,
or renewal of a driver permit, or duplicate a driver permit, the Master Fee Schedule must
be amended to provide for said fees;
WHEREAS, the taxicab-related fees and charges set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and incorporated by reference as though fully set forth herein, do not exceed the
reasonable estimated cost of providing the services for which the fees are charged;
WHEREAS, the addition of the aforementioned fees to the Master Fee Schedule
do not require a public hearing since they are neither new nor an increase of the current
fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
1. The above recitals and findings are true and correct.
A fee of $2.00 to transfer a taxicab ddver permit is hereby adopted and made
a part of the Master Fee Schedule.
A fee of $2.00 to renew a taxicab driver permit is hereby adopted and made
a part of the Master Fee Schedule.
A fee of $2.00 to duplicate a taxicab driver permit is hereby adopted and
made a part of the Master Fee Schedule.
The taxicab fees set forth in Exhibit "A" are hereby adopted and made a part
of the Master Fee Schedule and shall become effective on October 9, 1998.
