Mayor Hall called the meeting to order at 7:50 p.m.

PUBLIC STATEMENTS
The following individuals spoke in support of the
10% Tax Increment and development in the
Southeast: Art Powell who submitted written
information; Clarry Carr; Isaiah Crompton;
Walter Williams; Gilbert Johnson; Doris Taylor;
Stephanie Campbell; Renee Nelson; Marvin
Dean, representing the Southeast Business and
Property Owners Association.
The following individuals spoke regarding the
City Center Project; Harry Chicklenis; Gordon
Drescher representing Mr. Gonzales; Peggy
Lewis representing Assistance League; Daniel
Romero; Brandi DeLaGarza;
HEARINGS
Joint Public Hearing of the City Council and
Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency to consider
the adoption of an ordinance amending the
Southeast Bakersfield Redevelopment Plan.

a. Economic Development Director Kunz gave a
brief update.
City Manager Tandy gave additional comments.
Hearing opened at 8:35 p.m.
The following individuals spoke in support of
staff recommendation: Estella Casis; Jonathan
Webster; Humberto Gomez; Barbara Harris;
Marvin Dean and Archie Barefield.
Hearing closed at 8:56 p.m.
Motion by Davenport, seconded by Raphael,
to give a first reading of the ordinance by
adding a multi-use stadium as a possible
project for Agency assistance and place the
ordinance on the March 28, 2001 agenda for
consideration of adoption by Council.
Motion by Salvaggio to give the ordinance
first reading.

Motion by Agency member Davenport, seconded by
Chairperson of the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency
