AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO RESOLUTION 206-91
RESTRICTING PARKING ON CERTAIN PUBLIC STREETS
FOR THE PURPOSE OF STREET SWEEPING.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Council to amend Resolution 206-91, which
currently restricts parking in two different areas of the City of Bakersfield for the purpose
of street sweeping, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the first and third Tuesday of
each month; and
WHEREAS, this resolution will prohibit parking on one side of the street, between
8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the third Tuesday of each month and the opposite side of the
street will prohibit parking, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the third Wednesday of
each month; and
WHEREAS, the two areas affected by this amendment are described in EXHIBIT
"A" which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield desires to keep the public streets
of the City of Bakersfield in a clean, aesthetically pleasing condition; and
WHEREAS, California Vehicle Code § 22507, allows cities, by resolution, to restrict
the parking of vehicles along any street or portion thereof during all or certain hours of a
day.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield

side of the street on the third Tuesday of each month, and as signed, between 8:00 a.m.
and 12:00 noon on the even numbered side (addresses) of the street on the third
Wednesday of each month.
The revised posted sweeping schedule shall be implemented beginning
January 4, 1999.
