AN ORDINANCE AMENDING BAKERSFIELD MUNICIPAL
CODE SECTION 1.12.040 BY ADDING ANNEXATION NO. 414
TO WARD 4.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield adopted a resolution for Annexation
No. 414 on January 31,2001, ordering the territory armexed to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the territory ordered to be annexed to the City of Bakersfield is required to
be within a City Council Ward Boundary; and
WHEREAS, the Council recently completed annexation of the territory to the City of
Bakersfield, the exterior boundaries of which are described in Exhibit "A" for ANNEXATION
NO. 414 and shown in Exhibit "B", attached hereto and incorporated as though fully set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
Section 1.
All of the foregoing recitals are hereby found to be true and correct.
Section 2.
Annexation No. 414 shall be included in Ward 4.
Section 3.
Section 1.12.040 of the Bakersfield Municipal Code is hereby amended to add the legal
description set Fourth Ward boundary is as set forth in Exhibit "C" attached hereto and made a part
hereof by this reference.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall be posted in accordance with the Bakersfield Municipal Code and shall
become effective upon the annexation of the above-described territory to the City of Bakersfield, but not less
than thirty (30) days from and after the date of its passage.

ANNEXATION NO. 414
A parcel of land being a portion of the southeast I/4 of Section 26 and the northeast 1/4 of
Section 35, T. 29 S., R.26 E., M.D.M., County of Kern, State of California, more particularly
described as follows:
Commencing at the southeast comer of said Section 26, being a monumented comer designated
(by calculated conversion) as 2,322,543. 3571 feet North and 6,220,137. 9047 feet East per
California Coordinate System (N.A.D. 83) Zone 5;
Thence S 89° 48' 36" W, along the south line of said Section 26, a distance of 55.00 feet to a
point on the existing exterior corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence S 00° 19' 38" E, along said corporate boundary line, 74.95 feet to a point on the west
fight of way line of Allen Road, also being the TRUE POINT. OF BEGINNING;
Thence (1) northwesterly along a 20.00 foot radius curve, concave southwesterly, through a
central angle of 89 °51' 46", an arc distance of 31.37 feet to a tangent point on the south line of
the north 55 feet of said Section 35, also being a point on the south right of way line of Brimhall
Road (Co. Rd. No. 591);

Boundaries of the fourth ward. The boundaries of the fourth
ward are amended to read as follows:
All that part of the city of Bakersfield beginning at the intersection of the
centerline of Gosford Road and the centerline of Stockdale Highway;
Thence westerly along the centerline of Stockdale Highway to meet the northerly
prolongation of the west line of Section 5, T. 30 S., R. 27 E., M. D. M.;
Thence southerly along said prolongation line and west line of said Section 5 to
meet the centerline of Camino Media;
Thence easterly along the centerline of Camino Media to the east right-of-way
line of the Arvin-Edison Canal;
Thence southerly along the east right-of-way line of the Arvin-Edison Canal to the
centerline of Ming Avenue;
Thence westerly along the centerline of Ming Avenue to the west right-of-way
line of the Arvin-Edison Canal;
Thence southerly along the west right-of-way line of the Arvin-Edison Canal to

west line of Section 33, Township 29 South, Range 27 East, M.D.M.;
Thence southerly along the west line of Section 33 to the pOint of beginning.
Excepting therefrom the circumvented County area described as follows:
That area at the northwest corner of Brimhali Road and Jewetta Avenue being the
area within the boundary of Parcel Map No. 4244 bounded easterly by the west
line of east 30 feet of Section 25, T. 29 S., R. 26 E., M.D.M. and bounded
southerly by the north line of the south 55 feet of said Section 25.
Also excepting therefrom the circumvented County area described as follows:
That area southeasterly of the intersection of Jewetta Avenue and Palm Avenue
bounded westerly by the east right of way line of Jewetta Avenue; bounded
easterly by the west boundary of Tract No. 5684 Phase 2; bounded southerly by
the north boundary of Tract No. 5334; and bounded northerly by a line 120 feet
south of and parallel with the center line of Palm Avenue.
