HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 66-99(10)RESOLUTION NO. 6 6 '" 9 9 ~10"'~ AMENDMENT NO. 10 TO RESOLUTION NO. 66-99 APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE BLUE AND WHITE COLLAR UNITS AND ADOPTING SALARY SCHEDULE AND RELATED BENEFITS FOR SOLID WASTE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR WHEREAS, Resolution No. 66-99 sets salaries and related benefits for employees of the Blue and White Collar Units. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield that effective immediately following Council action, the Salary Schedule, a part of the Resolution No. 66-99 is hereby amended as follows: 1. Resolution No. 66-99 is hereby amended by deleting the following class title from the Blue Collar Unit: 13430 _A Sanitation Worker III 15.426 16.192 17.004 17.855 18.743 2. Resolution No. 66-99 is hereby amended by adding the following class title to the Blue Collar Unit: 13430 A Solid Waste EouiDment Ooerator 15.426 16.192 17.004 17.855 18.743 .......... oOo .......... R iii SOLID WASTE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR CLASS CIIARACTERISTiCS SUMMARY: Under general supervision, performs manual and semi-skilled work in the operation of heavy and complex automotive refuse collection and recvcling equipment such as (but not limited to) front loader, side loader, grinder and windrow turner; and performs other work as required. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: Solid Waste Ea_uipment Operator is differentiated from Heav~ Equipment Operator - Solid Waste & Recvclin~ in that the Heaw Eauioment Oocrator Solid Waste & Recvcline ooerates roll-off trucks and has responsibiliW for lead work involving multiple crews working on different or~ects whereas the Solid Waste Eauioment O~erator may lead a single crew. ESiRABLE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Trainine and Experience: Two years experience in driving a heavy-duty ~ vehicles or ea_uinment. Knowledge. Abilities, and Skills: Ability to: Efficiently organize and operate collection routes. Read and write at a level for successful job performance. Lead a small crew in Follow oral or written instructions. Drive a heavy-duty ~ vehicles and equipment. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. Licenses. Certificates and Snecial Requirements: Possession of a valid Class ~ B_ California driver's license. ' ........ ¶ · Physical or Snecial Workino Conditions: Must oossess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry objects weigtfine up to 50 pounds. Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to work in confined areas and fi.om heimhts and with exposure to unnleasant and notentiallv hazardous conditions. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
