4) Exit stairways on multiple floors had both signs and light illumination missing
and are in violation of Section,4ppendix 1-B 6.21, 6.23, and 6.24 of the
California Fire Code (2001 Edition), Exit Stairway Illumination.
"When the building is occupied; exit stairways shall be illuminated with lights
having an intensity of not less than 1 foot candle at the floor level. Such
lighting shall be equipped with ah independent alternate source of power
such as a battery pack or on-site generator."

6) Electrical covers and exposed-wiring. Throughout the building you have
electrical covers missing from wall plug-ins and exposed conduit with wires
sticking out. In some cases you have exposed wire and conduit running from
suite to suit.
7) Several floors had vertical shaft openings not protected and is in violation of
Section Appendix 1-B 6.1.8 of the California Fire Code (2001 Edition), Shaft
Enclosure Opening Protection: This office needs a work plan showing how
you are going to correct this.

rated fire assemblies 1 3/ inch solid wood doors or the equivalent thereto.

8) Throughout the building, fire rated doors have been modified to allow mail

"Openings in corridor walls and ceilings shall be protected by not less than 1
3/8 inch solid bonded wood-core doors, approved'/-thick, wired glass,
approved fire dampers conforming to the Building Code." .
9) No audible/visual strobes for hearing impaired. The fifth floor is occupied by
tenants that are hearing impaitei. This is in violation of Section 1006.2.9.1.5
of the California Fire Code (2401 Edition), and California Building Code
Section 11116.4.5, Visual Signaling Device.
"For persons with hearing impairment, shall be provided with visual and
audible fire alarm notification appliances, activated by both the in-room
smoke alarm and the, building fii`e alarm system. It is permitted to use
separate appliances to meet this requirement."
10) You have a church on the second floor which does not have proper fire rating
for glass or doors and exit door is blocked by a drop down screen. This is in
violation of Section Appendix 'I=8.6.11 of the California Fire Code
(2001 Edition), Unlocked Stairway Doors, and Section Appendix 1-B 6.17 of
the California Fire Code (2001 Edition), Corridor Openings.
"Exit doors into exit stairway enclosures shall be maintained unlocked from
the stairway side."
