Senate Bill 989 became effective January 1, 2002, section 25284.1 (California Health & Safety Code) of the new law mandates testing of secondary containment components upon installation and every 36 months, thereafter, to insure that the systems are capable of containing releases from the primary containment until they are detected and removed.
