A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR A LOCAL LEVEE
EVALUATION PROJECT UNDER PROPOSITION 84
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of California have
provided funds for the program shown above; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Water Resources has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of this grant program establishing
necessary procedures,
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Water
Resources require a resolution certifying the approval of application by the applicants
governing board before submission of said application to the State; and
WHEREAS, the Applicant, if selected will enter into an agreement with the State
of California to carry out the project; and
WHEREAS, the project is required to comply with Federal Emergency
Management Agency standards for Kern River Levees; and
WHEREAS, project will evaluate Kern River Levees for which there is a Notice of
Exemption from CEQA pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council for the City of
Bakersfield (hereafter "Applicant"):
1. Approves the filing of an application for grant funds for the
California Local Levee Assistance Program (Proposition 84);
and.
2. Certifies that Applicant will comply with all of the terms and
provisions of California Public Resources Code Section
75032; and
3. The City Council has complied with the California
Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the local CEQA
Implementation Procedures. No further environmental review
is required; and

4. Appoints the Water Resources Manager or his designee as
agent to prepare the necessary data, make investigations,
sign certifications required as part of the application, and
sign and file such application with the California Department
of Water Resources.

HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
