The present property consists of a rectangular- shaped lot containing one building located in the northeast corner. The building is currently occupied by a small retail business, Mr. Fast Gas & Liquors. Attached to the west side of the building is a fenced in storage area. Old pump islands and new pump islands are located along the south edge of the building. The property is bordered along its northern side by 1 sl Street, along its eastern side by "T" Street (on the south side of Brundage Lane "T" Street becomes Berneta Avenue), along its southern side by Brundage Lane, and along its western side by the Kern Island Canal - Central Branch. The wells will be installed in an unpaved area 5 feet wide between the street pavement and the fence at the edge of the adjacent residential property. A piping trench measuring 2 feet wide by 2 feet deep by approximately 120 feet long will be excavated in the unpaved area along the west side of Berneta Avenue from existing well MW-11 to the two proposed wells (see Figure 1 for plot of offsite work area). Typical air sparge and vapor extraction well construction diagrams are shown in Figures 2 and 3. Traffic control will be maintained during performance of the work activities.
