Typical Air Sparge Well Diagram NOT TO SCALE Figure 2 ~ ~ ("~, Site Description The Site is located at 600 Brundage Lane in Bakersfield, California (Figure 1 depicts the offsite area directly south of the site). The present property consists of a rectangular- shaped lot containing one building located in the northeast corner. The building is currently occupied by a small retail business, Mr. Fast Gas & Liquors. Attached to the west side of the building is a fenced in storage area. Old pump islands and new pump islands are located along the south edge of the building. The property is bordered along its northern side by 1 sl Street, along its eastern side by "T" Street (on the south side of Brundage Lane "T" Street becomes Berneta Avenue), along its southern side by Brundage Lane, and along its western side by the Kern Island Canal - Central Branch. Residential areas, interspersed with light commercial/industrial areas, are located adjacent to the Site. Vista High School is located just north of the Site. Highway 58, an east-west trending four-lane divided freeway is located approximately 450 feet south of the Site. The proposed offsite work consists of the installation of two wells (one air sparge well and one vapor extraction well) along the west side of Berneta Avenue. The wells will be installed in an unpaved area 5 feet wide between the street pavement and the fence at the edge of the adjacent residential property. A piping trench measuring 2 feet wide by 2 feet deep by approximately 120 feet long will be excavated in the unpaved area along the west side of Berneta Avenue from existing well MW-11 to the two proposed wells (see Figure 1 for plot of offsite work area). Typical air sparge and vapor extraction well construction diagrams are shown in Figures 2 and 3. Traffic control will be maintained during performance of the work activities.
