Period of time for which the encroachment is to be maintained: INDEFINITE Applicant agrees that if this application is granted, applicant will idemnify, defend and hold harmless City, its officers, agents, and employees against any and all liability, claims, actions, causes of action or demands, whatsoever against them, or any of them, before administrative, quasi-judicial or judicial tribunals of any kind whatsoever, arising out of, connected with or caused by applicant's placement, erection, use (by applicant or any other person or entity) or maintenance of said encroachment. Applicant further agrees to obtain and keep all liability insurance required by the City Engineer in full force and effect for however long the encroachment remains. Applicant shall furnish the City Risk Manager with a certificate of insuance evidencing sufficient coverage for bodily injury or property damage liability of both and required endorsements evidencing the insurance required. A standard drawing is contained at the end of the Traffic Division of this manual illustrating the requirements of -this chapter. No obstruction to sight view will be allowed within a triangular area formed by the alley or driveway edge and the interior sidewalk edge (the street right-of-way line if no sidewalk exists) and a line connecting them at points 10 feet from the intersection point. Sec. 4.7.4 Controlled Intersections 4.7.4.1 Sight distance at controlled intersections shall be based upon a sight distance equal to design speed (S) in miles per hour multiplied by a factor of 10. Design speeds for various street classifications are as follows: Classification Local Street Major Collector .Major Arterial Speed (S) 35 MPH 45 MPH 55 MPH 4.7.4.2 Corner sight distance is measured from a point on the minor road fifteen feet from the edge of the major road pavement, and three right of the left edge of the lane under consideration. Said point is viewed from a height of 3. 75 feet on the minor road to a height of 4.5 feet on the ma jor road. 4.7.4.3 The location of the object to the left is twelve feet from the nearest edge of the major street (six feet with parking prohibi ted).
