LaRochelle, Engineering Services Manager January 27, 1998 SUBJECT: Encroachment Permit Application for Installation of a 4' fence and outdoor seating within the sidewalk area. Owner: Jimmy Katsantonis Location: 1623 19'h Street Engineering and Traffic staff have reviewed the attached encroachment permit to allow the installation of a 4' fence and tables within the sidewalk area to allow a minimum of 6 feet clear pedestrian clearance on the sidewalk. The site is Goose Loonies Restaurant. The applicant has provided proof of appropriate insurance coverage to the Building Department representative. Traffic is recommending denial of the permanent fence since it restricts pedestrian movement and may obstruct alley visibility. Staff is recommending allowing an encroachment during business hours only with the use of a moveable barrier. Also, since the parking on 19th Street is at a diagonal, the moveable barrier needs to allow six feet dear from the bumpers of the parked cars - about eight feet from the curb. / ",.-j 1:1-/3 (p 3 ---...........
