RAYCARVAJAL INSTALLATION OF A 4' RETAINING WALL ********************************************************************************************* Engineering and Traffic staffhave reviewed the attached encroachment permit to allow the construction of a 4' high concrete block retaining wall located 6' from the face of the curb along the sideyard (along Occidental Street) of the above residential lot. Staff has added conditions that the top of the wall footing be no higher than the top of the curb grade, and that the applicant obtain a building permit to construct the wall. The Building Department has been made aware of these requirements. The residential subdivision is located just south of Bakersfield College and is probably 40-50 years old. While no sidewalk exists in the area, and it is doubtful it will be installed in the future, construction of this wall would not prevent future sidewalk installation. TOP OF FOOTING TO BE AT OR BELOW TOP OF ADJACENT CURB GRADE. BUILDING PERMIT TO BE OBTAINED FOR WALL INSTALLATION. INSTALLATION TO MEET MUN. CODE SIGHT LINE REQUIREMENTS. The location of proposed encroachment is ALONG SIDEYARD (OCCIDENTAL STREET SIDE) OF ABOVE RESIDENCE.
