Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 3140 New Series of the City of
Bakersfield, the undersigned applies for a permit to place, erect and/or maintain
an encroachment on public property or right of way as therein defined.

Applicant agrees that if this application is granted, applicant will indemnify,

,rF~ employees against and from all damages, judgments, claims, demands, expenses,
.:' costs and expenditures, and against all loss or liability which the City of
Bakersfield or such officers, agents or employees may suffer, or which may be
recoverable from, or obtainable against the City of Bakersfield or such officers,
agents or employees, proximately caused by, growing out of or in any way
connected with the placing, erection or maintenance of said encroachment, the
applicant further agrees to maintain the aforesaid encroachment during the life
of the said encroachment or until such time that this permit is revoked.

Applicant further agrees that upon the expiration of the permit for which this
application is made, if granted, or upon the revocation thereof by the City
Engineer, applicant will at his own cost and expense remove the same from the
public property or right of way where the same is located, and restore said
public property or right of way to the condition as nearly may be in which it was
before the placing, erection, maintenance or existence of said encroachment.

Dear Mr. Soley:
The Cen~ral District Development Agency on November 20, 1989
reviewed your application for building color, signage, and awn-
ings for a structure located at lG23 19th Street.

Specifically, the awning is a'fixed steel to be framed with a
dark green color cloth and white fringe (manufacturers designa-
tion is "Hemlock Tweed"). The restaurant name and street address
will be incorporated into the awning and wi 11 consist of ~vhi te
letters in accordance with Agency design guidelines. The awning
will be attached to the center line of the top front facade and
extend the width of the storefront.
The remainder of the front facade will be painted green to match
the awning color with an "off white" color to frame both sides
and along the top of the facade. Additionally, the support col-
umn on the eastside of the facade ~Jill be painted a matching "off
white" color. Also, future consideration will be given to paint-
ing the south side of the building in conjunction with the Facade
Improvement application.
Please contact the City Building Division for your permit.
