Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance No. 904 New Series of the City of Bakersfield, the under-

Applicant agrees that if this application is granted, a pplicant will indemnify, save and hold harmless the
City of Bakersfield, its agents, officers arid employees against and from all damages, judgments, claims,

such officers, agents or employees may suffer, or which may be recoverable from, or obtainable against
the City of Bakersfield or such officers, agents or employees, proximately caused by, growing out of or in
any way connected with the placing, erection or main tenance of said encroachment.
Applicant further agress that upon the expiration of the permit for which this application is made,
if granted, or upon the revocation thereof by the City Council, applicant will at his own cost and expense
remove the same from the public property or right of way where the same is located, and restore said
public property or right of way to the condition as nearly may be in which it was before the placing, erec-
tion, maintenance or existence af said encroachment.

APPLICATION"
THE ROOF DECK shall be firm, clean, dry and smooth, CONBASE TYPE W.1.IV
shall be applied at right angles to continuous joints of surface to be roofed and
lapped so watar flow IS over or parallel to, but never against, the laps, It shall be
lapped 2" on Sides and 6" on ends and narled on f,l" centers through the laps and
on 1 8" centers along I.nes 12" distant from eech edge. It shall be turned up 2"
above the cant on all walls and vertIcal surfaces, CONPL Y TYPE A-I V shall be
applied patallal to the base sheAt and lapped so tha flow of water IS over or
perallel to, but naver agaInst, the laps, All end laps shall ba at least 4" and
adjacent end laps shall be at least 12" apart. Embed two piles of Conply Type A,IV

Embed the full width of each ply sheet In hot asphalt appl,lld at a nominal rate of
30 Ibs, per 100 squale feet. Each ply shall be lIghtly broom'Jd, uSing a moderataly ,

t,le top of the cant and shall be solid mopped to the cant and vertical wall. (.Embed
12' or 18' lengths of Concap into a unlfol m solid mopping of hot steep asphalt,
using not less than 25 Ibs. per 100 square feet. Concap side laps shall be at least
12" from bottom sheet side laps. Concap shall be set neatly in place with a 2"
Side lap and a 4" end lap, Adjacent end laps shall be at least 3' apart. There mult
be complete contact between Concap and the mopping asphalt)ON SLOPES
EXCEEDING 1,1/2" par foot asphalt shall be applied at the nomInal rate of 25
Ibs, per 100 square feet per ply Roofing shall ba applied parallel to slope of deck,
On slopes 2" per foot or over, the ply sheets shall be nailed to the deck 18" from
the back edge of each sheet. UnderlYing sheet of all Concap end laps shall be
nailed with two rows of naris,)" apart on )" centers staggered, VALLEYS AND
WA TERWA YS shall receive an axtra layer of Conply whIch shall b. at least 36" "
wid. and shall extend at laalt 8" up the ,nclines out of the valleys, Thi. ply &hall
