HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 94-77RESOLUTION NO. 94-77 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "PANAMA LANE NO. 1," PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 12th day of October, 1977, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of such territory according to the last-preceding equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California, being portions of Sections 22, 23, 26 and 27 of Township 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D.M., more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the northeast corner of the south half of the southwest quarter of said Section 23 being a point on the exterior boundary of the City of Bakers- field; Thence (1) departing from said boundary, southerly along the east line of said southwest quarter and the east line of the northwest quarter of said Section 26 a distance of 1350 feet more or less to intersect the south line of the north 30 feet of the northwest quarter of said Section 26; Thence (2) westerly along last-named south line and the south line of the north 30 feet of said Section 27, a distance of 2670 feet more or less to intersect 'the west line of the east 30 feet of said Section 27; Thence (3) northerly along last-named west line and the west line of the east 30 feet of said Section 22 a distance of 1350 feet more or less to intersect the north line of the south half of the southeast quarter of said Section 22; said point being a point in the existing corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield; Thence (4) following said corporate boundary easterly along last-named north line and the north line of the south half of the southwest quarter of saidISection 23, a distance of 1856 feet more or less to a point in the west line of the east 813.97 feet of the southwest quarter of said Section 23; Thence (5) departing from said corporate boundary, continuing easterly along last-named north line a distance of 768.97 feet to a point in the west line of the east 45 feet of the southwest quarter of said Section 23, said point being a point in said corporate boundary; Thence (6) continuing easterly along said corporate boundary to the Point of Beginning. Containing 82.7 acres more or less. That a designation appropriately naming such territory is "PANAMA LANE NO. 1." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Wednesday, the 23d day of November, 1977, at the hour of 8 P.
