A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR
PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYMENT ACT OF 1977, GRANT
MONEYS FO~ STORM DRAINS, NEW FIRE STATION,
STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND CURBS AND GUTTERS.
WHEREAS, the Public Works Employment Act of 1977, provides
funds to cities for construction, repair or other improvements of
local public works projects; and
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Administration has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program,
setting up necessary procedures governing application by local
agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the Economic
Development Administration require the applicant to certify by
resolution the approval of applications prior to submission of
said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the
applicant must comply with.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1977 Public
Works Employment Act funds for the following projects:
a. Storm drains at the following locations:
Sixth and "T" to Second and "V" Streets
Second Street between "T" and "V" Streets
Robinson Street between Virginia Avenue
and East Tenth Street.
Storm drain laterals at Clyde and Northrup
"N" Street between 4th and California Avenue
Hayes between Brundage and East 3rd Street
b. Curb and gutter in the area bounded by
California Avenue, Southern Pacific Railread
tracks, Brundage Lane and King Street.
c. Construction of a new Fire Station
d.Street improvements at the following
locations:
California Avenue between "L" and East City
Limits
"P" Street between Brundage Lane and
California Avenue
Fourth Street between Chester Avenue and Union
Avenue
Baker Street between California Avenue and
E. Truxtun Avenue
Lakeview Avenue between California Avenue and
Southern Pacific Railroad
2. Certifies that said agency will comply with and pro-
vide all assurances and certification as stated in said application;
3. Appoints H. Eo Bergen, City ManagerS' as agent of the
City to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents
including but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments,
payment requests, etc. which may be necessary for the completion of
the aforementioned project.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 24th day of August, 1977, by the follow-
ing vote:
