A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF
PORTIONS OF EAST 19TH STREET BETWEEN
BEALE AVENUE AND GAGE STREET.
WHEREAS, on the 27th day of June, 1977, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 921 declaring its intention to order
the vacation of portions of East 19th Street between Beale Avenue
and Gage Street in~the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 25th day of July, 1977, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That those portions of East 19th Street between Beale
Avenue and Gage Street in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, more particularly described as follows, is
unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
Two parcels of land situate in the City of Bakersfield,
County of Kern, State of California and being a portion
of the former Town of Kern, now within the City of
Bakersfield, as shown on that map filed on January 12,
1889, in the office of the County Recorder of said
County of Kern, in Book i of Maps, pages 15 and 16,
and also being a portion of Section 29, Township 29
South, Range 28 East, M.D.M. and more particularly
described as follows:
PARCEL 1
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 12, Block 127 as
shown on said map of Kern. Thence southeasterly along the
south right-of-way line of East 19th Street (formerly
"G" Street), a distance of 155 feet to the northwest
corner of Lot 9 of said Block 127. Thence northeasterly
along the extension of the west line of said Lot 9, a
distance of 40 feet to a point on the center line of
said East 19th Street; thence easterly and in a direct
line to a point on the northerly right-of-way line of
said East 19th Street, said point being the south-
west corner of Lot 27, Block 106 as shown on said map
of Kern; thence northwesterly along the northerly
right-of-way line of said East 19th Street, a dis-
tance 6f 206 feet; thence southwesterly and in a
direct line to the Point of Beginning.
PARCEL 2
Beginning at the northwest corner of Lot 16, Block
128 as shown on said map of Kern. Thence north-
easterly along the extension of the west line of
said Lot 16, a distance of 40 feet to a point on
the center line of said East 19th Street (formerly
"G" Street); thence southeasterly along said center
line a distance of 275 feet to a point on the
southerly extension of the west line of Lot 28,
Block 105 of said map of Kern; thence southwesterly
along the extended west line of said Lot 28 to a
point on the north right-of-way line of said Truxtun
Avenue (formerly Central Avenue); thence westerly
along north right-of-way line of said Truxtun Avenue
to a point on the southerly right-of-way of said
East 19th Street; thence northwesterly along the
southerly right-of-way of East 19th Street to the
Point of Beginning.
2. That said portions of East 19th Street between Beale

subject to and in conformity ~ith said Resolution of Intention No.

further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office of the
County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
