A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION OF TARTAN PLACE, ,BETWEEN AUBURN
STREET AND HIGHLAND HIGH SE. HOOL, IN THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 20th day of June, 1977, the Council of
the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street
Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 922 declaring its intention to order
the vacation of a portion of Tartan Place, between Auburn Street
and Highland High School in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 25th day of July, 1977, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of Tartan Place between Auburn Street
and High~and High School, in the City of Bakersfield, County of Kern,
State of California, more particularly described as follows, is
unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
All that certain portion of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 14, Township 29 South, Range 28 East,
M.D.M., in the County of Kern, State of California,
being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north line
of the south 45 feet of said southeast quarter
with the west line of the east 512.05 feet of
said southeast quarter;
Thence (1) Hor~herly along iaSt'~m~d west ~ine
to the north lihe'of the'soUth'385 feet of said
southeast quarter;
Thence (2) easterly along last-named north line
to the west line of the east 452.05 feet of said
southeast quarter;
Thence (3) southerly along last-named west line
to the north line of the south 45 feet of said
southeast quarter;
Thence (4) westerly along last-named north line
to the point of beginning.
2. ,That said portion of Tartan Place between Auburn
Street and Highland High School, in the City of Bakersfield, be and
the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street
purposes subject to and in conformity with said Resolution of Intention
No. 922. Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for
further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by the
Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office of the
County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 25th day of July, 1977, by the following
vote:
