A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A COPY
OF NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE PETITION
AND AN AFFIDAVIT OF PUBLICATION AND CONSENT-
ING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF ANNEXATION PROCEED-
INGS AND CIRCULATION OF PETITION FOR THE ANNEXA-
TION TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD OF CERTAIN
INHABITED AND INCORPORATED TERRITORY IN THE
COUNTY OF KERN, DESIGNATED AS "KERN CITY."
WHEREAS, requests that the City Council consent to annexa-
tion proceedings have been filed and the City Council has received
a favorable recommendation from the Planning Commission of the City;
and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern
County has designated Kern City as Annexation No. 235 and Proceeding
No. 538 and has by Resolution7i7~21 adopted on ~pril~6'~1977,'.approved"
the proposal for annexation and the boundaries of the territory pro-
posed for annexation, which boundaries are particularly described
in Exhibit '~" of such reference, and by this reference made a part
hereof as if fully set forth herein; and
WHEREAS, on June 1, 1977, there was filed with the City
C6~n~il of the City of Bakersfield a copy of Notice of Intention to
Circulate Petition For Annexation, together with an affidavit of
publication of said notice showing publication thereof on May 19,
1977, in the Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper of general circu-
lation published in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the
legislative body may adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of
the notice and approving the circulation of the petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the receipt of the Notice of Intent to Circulate
Petition and Affidavit of Publication thereof be and the same is
hereby acknowledged.
2. That this Council grants its consent and approval
for the commencement of annexation proceedings and the circulation
of petitions in connection with the inhabited territory fully des-
cribed in Exhibit ~" referred to above, designated as I'~ern City,"
under the Annexation Act of 1913 (Government Code Sections 35100
et seq.).
3. That the petition may be circulated twenty-one (21)
days after the publication of the Notice or not earlier than June 9,
1977.
4. The petition for annexation shall contain a request
that the question submitted to the electors residing in the terri-
tory proposed to be annexed shall be whether the territory shall be
annexed and the property in the territory subjected to taxation after
annexation equally with the property within the City to pay the bonded
indebtedness of the City of Bakersfield outstanding for the acquisi-
tion, construction or completion of municipal improvements.

KERN CITY ANNEXATION
ANNEXATION NO. 235
A parcel of land'situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Section 3, Township 30 South, Range 27 East,
M. D. B. & M. and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of south line of the north 25 feet
of said Section 3 with the east line of the west 200 feet of said
Section 3;
Thence (1) S.89902'51"E along the last named south"line, 2021.71 feet,
to intersect.the extension of the east right of way line of
Cherry Hills Drive, as said drive is shown on a map of Tract
No. 2560, recorded in Book 12 of Maps, pages 49 through 53,
records'of said Kern County, said intersection being also a
point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (2) southerly and along the various courses of said
Corporate Boundary to a point on the west right of way line
of Ashe Road, as said Ashe Road is shown on a map of Tract
No. 2562, recorded in Book 14 of Maps, page 83, records of
said Kern County, said intersection also being distant as
measured along the following three courses, from the point of
beginning;
Thence (3) (assuming a bearing of N 89° 02' 51" W for the north
line of said Section 3) N 9° 56' 06" E, 356.62 feet, along the
last named west right of way line to the beginning of a tangent
curve, concave to the west, with a radius of 5945 feet;
Thence (4) northerly along said curve and along the last named west
right of way line through a central angle of 9° 18' 25" an arc,.
length of 965.6!' feet, to the end point of said curve;
Thence (5) N 0o 37' 41" E, 2075.56 feet, along the last named west
right of way line to the point of beginning;
Containing 262.70
acres, more or less.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting June 27, 1977, by the following vote:
