'RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE
GREATER BAKERSFIELD SEPARATION OF GRADE DISTRICT
CERTAIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "FAIRFAX NO. 1,"
AND SETTING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
OBJECTIONS TO THE INCLUSION OF SAID TERRITORY
WITHIN SAID DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been co,m,~enced for the annexa-
tion of certain unincorporated territory, designated as "Fairfax
No.l," to the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said territory lies outside the Greater Bakersfield
Separation of~-~rade'Distri~t; and
WHEREAS, Section 8290 of the Streets and Hikhways Code
of the State of California, provides that the unincorporated terri-
tory of a county which was not included within a separation of grade
district at the time of the formation of such district, and which
subsequent to the formation of such district is annexed to or other-
wise included within a city which is a part of such district, shall
immediately upon such annexation to such city be included within the
district and shall thereafter become a part of the district to the
same extent as such city; except such portion or portions thereof
which the City Council has determined, will not be benefited by inclu-
sion in the district.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
1. That a description of the unincorporated territory
described in the annexation proceedings, is as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
being a portion of Sections 13 and 14, Township 29 South, Range 28
East, M.D.B.& M., and more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of the southwest quarter of said
Section 13;
Thence (1) southerly, 1320 feet, more or less, along the east line
of said SW~ to intersect the south line of the north one-half of said
SW~; being also a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of
Bakersfield;
Thence (2) westerly and along the various courses of said Corporate
Boundary to intersect the north line of the SE~ of said Section 14;
Thence (3) departing from said Corporate Boundary, easterly, 3960
feet, more or less, along the north line of the SE~ of said Section
14 and the north line of the'SW~ of said Section 13 to the point of
beginning;
Containing 104.27 acres, more or less.
2. That unless any portion shall be excluded by the City
Council, all portions of said unincorporated territory shall, upon
annexation to the City of Bakersfield, be included within the Greater
Bakersfield Separation of Grade District.
3. That Monday, the 25th day of July, 1977, at the
hour of 8 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501
Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when and the
place where, objections to inclusion within the district will be
heard.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 13th day of June, 1977, by the following
vote:
