A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF
THE ALLEY EAST OF CHESTER AVENUE BETWEEN
GENEVA AVENUE AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC
RAILROAD.
WHEREAS, on the 16th day of May, 1977, the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the "Street Vaca-
tion Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California, passed and adopted its
Resolution of Intention No. 920, declaring its intention to order
the vacation of the alley east of Chester Avenue between Geneva
Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railroad, situate in the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vaca-
tion, which said hearing was held on the 6th day of June, 1977,
after notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1~ That the alley east of Chester Avenue between Geneva
Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railroad, situate in the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California, more particularly
described as follows, is unnecessary for present or prospective
public street purposes:
PARCEL 1: All that portion of the west 43 feet of the North-
west Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 7,
Township 30 South, Range 28 East, M.D.M., County
of Kern, State of California, lying between the
southeasterly right-of-way line of the Southern
Pacific Railroad Asphalto Branch and the north
line of the parcel abandoned under Resolution
No. 33-55 ordering the vacation of a portion of
South "P" Street under Resolution of Intention
No. 713 on file in the City Clerk's Office, City
of Bakersfield.
Reserving the east 5 feet of the north 94 feet of
Parcel 1 for the purposes of a public utilities
easement and also reserving the north 26.5 feet
of Parcel 1 for the purposes of storm drain ease-
ment.
PARCEL 2: All that portion of the Northwest Quarter of the
Southeast Quarter of Section 7, Township. 30 South,
Range 28 East, M.D.M., in the County of Kern, State
of California, de'scribed as follows:
A strip of land 20 feet in width, the center line
being parallel with and 275 feet northeasterly of,
as measured at right angles to the center line of
Chester Avenue, 110 feet in width.
Excepting therefrom any portion lying in the south
198 feet of said Northwest Quarter of the Southeast
Quarter of Section 7 and also excepting any portion
lying in the west 43 feet of said Northwest Quarter
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 7.
Reserving the northeasterly 5 feet of Parcel 2 for
purposes of a public utilities easement.
2. That said alley lying east of Chester Avenue between
Geneva Avenue and the Southern Pacific Railroad, be and the same is
hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public street purposes,
subject to and in conformity with the reservations and exceptions
contained in and contemplated by said Resolution of Intention No. 920.
Reference to said Resolution of Intention is hereby made for further
particulars.
3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of
this Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested
by the Clerk under the seal of the City, to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th day of June, 1977, by the following
vote:
