HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 31-77RESOLUTION NO. .q 1-77 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THE WEEK OF APRIL 25- 29, 1977, AS "'CALIFORNIA ' S FORGOTTEN VICTIMS WEEK." WHEREAS, for every crime that is committed there is a victim; and WHEREAS, victims of crimes are often forgotten in the administration of justice; and WHEREAS, many victims of crimes suffer more than the criminals themselves; and WHEREAS, victims are rarely compensated for the financial, physical and emotional suffering resulting from criminal acts; and WHEREAS, numerous cities and counties in California are declaring the week of April 25 through April 29, 1977, as "California's Forgotten Victims Week"; and WHEREAS, the City of Bakersfield desires to call attention to the plight of victims of criminal action.
