A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE
FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING
REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED
AS "'COLLEGE NO. 1," PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED
TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the
City of Bakersfield on the 10th day of March, 1977, requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and
incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory,
and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value
of such territory according to the last-preceding equalized assess-
ment roll of the County of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
A par'cel of land situatein the County of Kern, State of California
and being a portion of Sections 23, 24, 25 and 26~, Township 29 South,
Range 28 East, M.D.B. & M. and more particularly described as
follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of the NW 1/4 6f the said'Section
24;-thence southerly, along the east~line of said NW 1/4, 358o51
feet, to true point of beginning for this description, said point of
beginning being also a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City
of Bakersfield;

line of the W 1/2 of said Section 24 and along the
east line of the W 1/2 of said Section 25 to intersect

south line to intersect the west line of the NW 1/4 of
said Section 25;

line of said Section 23 to intersect the south line of
the north 600 feet of said Section 23, said intersection
· being a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of
Bakers field; · -
Thence (29) easterly, northerly, and easterly along said Corporate
Boundary to the true point of beginning; · "-'
con.sisting of 398.95 acres, more'or less·
That a designation appropriately naming such territory is
"College No. 1."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 25th day of April,
1977, at the hour of 8 P. M., in the Council Chambers of the City
Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is the time when
and the place where any person owning real property within such terri-
tory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections to the pro-
posed annexation may appear before the Council of the City of Bakers-
field and show cause why such territory should not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 14th day of March, 1977, by the follow-
ing vote:
