A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT
OF PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION OF DESCRIBED
TERRITORY.
WHEREAS, a request for annexation to the City of Bakersfield
of the hereinafter~described territory has been referred to, and
favorably reported thereon, by the Planning Commission; and
WHEREAS, Section 35106 of the Government Code states that
the consent of the City Council shall be obtained before any pro-
ceedings are co~m~enced pursuant to Article ~, Division 2, Title 4
(co~anencing with Section 35300) of the Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby consents to the coum~encement
of proceedings for annexation of Fairfax No. 1 to the City of
Bakersfield, pursuant to Article 15', Division 2, Title 4 (dorf~nencing
with Section 35300) of the Government Code' of the following-described
territory:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern,
State of California, being a portion of Sections
13 and 14, Township 29 South, Range 28 East,
M.D.B.& M., and more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the northeast corner of the ~outhwest
quarter of said Section 13;
Thence (1) southerly, 1320 feet, more or less,
along the east line of said SW~ to intersect the
south line of the north one-half of said SW~;
being also a point on the Corporate Boundary of
the City of Bakersfield.
Thence (2) westerly and along the various courses
of said Corporate Boundary to intersect the north
line of the SE~ of said Section 14;
Thence (3) departing from said Corporate Boundary,
easterly, 3960 feet, more or less, along the north
line of the SE~ of said Section 14 and the north
line of the SW~ of said Section 13 to the point of
beginning.
Containing 104.27 acres, more or less.
2. The City Council hereby requests that the City Attorney
submit to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County an
application to initiate proceedings for such annexation.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 10th day of January, 1977, by the follow-
ing vote:
