A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT
OF PROCEEDINGS FOR ANNEXATION OF DESCRIBED
TE RRI TORY.
WHEREAS, a request for annexation to the City of Bakersfield
of the hereinafter-described territory has been referred to, and
favorably reported thereon, by the Planning Coff~f, ission; and
WHEREAS, Section 35106 of the Government Code states that
the consent of the City Council shall be obtained before any pro-
ceedings are cow.~enced pursuant to Article 5.i, Division 2, Title 4
(coam~encing with Section 35'300) of the Government Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby consents to the coff~f, encement
of proceedings for annexation of Manor No. 1 to the City of Bakers-
field, pursuant to Article 5!, Division 2, Title 4 (commencing with
Section 35300) of the Government Code, of the following-described
territory:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern,
State of California, and being a portion of Section 18,
Township 29 South, Range 28 East, M.D.B.& M., more
particularly described as follows:
Corf~f~encing at the northeast corner of said Section
18; thence S 0°55'17'' E, 2681.21 feet; thence S
1° 01 ' 36" E, 30 feet, to the true point of beginning;
Thence (1) S l°01'36'' E, 381.098 feet, to intersect
the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (2) along said Cor orate Boundary the follow-
ing 2 courses; S 63°10'35~ W, 337-.357 feet;
Thence (3) S 46023'53'' W, 518.380 feet, to intersect
the west right-of-way line of Manor Street, of 150
feet in width;
Thence (4) departing from said Corporate Boundary,
- - N 24o59'37'' W, 324.400 feet, to the beginning of a
tangent curve, concave to the southwest and having
a radius of 3098 feet;
Thence (5) northerly along said curve through a
central '
angle of 10 48 13" an arc distance of 584.155
feet to intersect a curve which is concave to the
southeast with a radius of 725 feet and from which
intersection the radial point of the last-named curve
bears S 30°21'01'' E;
Thence (6) easterly along said curve through a central
11°29 43" an arc distance of 144.45 feet, to
angle of '
intersect the south line of the north 30 feet of the
SE 1/4 of said Section 18;
Thence (7) S 89~33'29'' E, 992.914 feet to the point of
beginning;
Containing 14.02 acres, more or less.
2. The City Council hereby requests that the City Attorney
submit to the Local Agency Formation Commission of Kern County an
application to initiate proceedings for such annexation.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 3d day of January, 1977, by the follow-
ing vote:
