RESOLUTION CALLING THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE-OF COUNCILMAN IN
THEIst, 3rd, 4th. AND 7th WARDS, TO BE
HELD IN-THE CITY. OF BAKERSFIELD ON
-TUESDAY, THE 8.t.b DAY OF MARCH, 1977, AND
DIRECTING THE CITY.CLERK TO PUBLISH THE
NOTICE OF ELECTION.
WHEREAS, Section 67 of the Charter of the City of
Bakersfield requires that a General Municipal Election for the
election of members of the Council shall be held on the first Tues-
day after the first Monday in March in each odd-numbered year
commencing in the year 1977.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the General Municipal Election for the office of
Councilman in the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 7th Wards of the City of Bakers-
field is hereby called and will be held on Tuesday, the 8th day of
March, 1977.
2o That the City Clerk is hereby authorized to publish
the Notice of Election in substantially the following form:
NOTICE OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election
will be held in the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 7th Wards in the City of
Bakersfield, for the office of Councilman for the full term of
four years, on Tuesday, the 8th day of March, 1977.
The persons having the highest number of votes given for
each office shall be elected.
The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and
8:00 P.M.

3. The Clerk is further requested to prepare the
appropriate documents for consolidation of the General Municipal
Election with elections to be called and held on the same day by
elementary, high school, or community college districts, including
within their boundaries the same' territory, or territory that is
in part the same, as the City of Bakersfield.

I'HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing reoslution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held'on the 13th day of December, 1976, by the
following vote:
