A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD DECLARING THAT A MAJORITY
PROTEST HAS NOT BEEN MADE TO THE ANNEXATION
OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "KERN RIVER NO. 4,"
PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Government Code of the State of
California, Sections 34300, et. seq., proceedings have been insti-
tuted for the annexation of certain territory designated as "Kern
River No. 4"; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such proceedings, Resolution No. 87-74
of the Council of the City of Bakersfield was adopted on October 28,
1974, which resolution initiated proceedings to annex the territory
on its own motion, setting forth its reasons for desiring the annexa-
tion, publications had on said resolution and fixing a time and
place for hearing protests by persons owning real property within
such territory designated as "Kern River No. 4"; and
WHEREAS, the hearing was duly begun in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall in the City of Bakersfield on the 9th day of
December, 1974, at the hour of 8 P. M. pursuant to notices given
in compliance with law; and
WHEREAS, said hearing was continued from time to time
and until the 8.th day of November, 1976, and was so duly held and
conducted for the purpose of hearing protests by any person owning
property within such territory.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
That at the time to which the hearing was continued and
at the time said hearing was held a majority protest has not been
made by private owners of one-half the value of the territory pro-
posed to be annexed, as shown by the last equalized assessment roll,
or by public and private owners equal to one-half of the value of
said territory, said property being designated as "Kern River No. 4"
and more particularly described in Resolution No. 87-74 of the City
of Bakersfield.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 8th day of November , 1976,
by the following vote:
