A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
· OF BAKERSFIELD RENEWING REQUEST FOR
CONSENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY COMMISSION
TO NEW ON- AND OFF,RAMPS AT MOUNT VERNON
AVENUE AND COMMITMENT FOR FUNDING BY CITY
OF PORTION OF COST OF CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 7-76 the City of Bakersfield
on February 9, 1976, respectfully requested the California Highway
Commission to consent to new public road connections to Route 178
Freeway on the west side of Mount Vernon Avenue by addition of an
eastbound off-ramp and a westbound on-ramp; and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to confirm and renew such
request and make commitment for funding in fiscal year 1977-1978,
a portion of the costs of construction of the ramps.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the City Council confirms and renews its request
for consent of the California Highway Commission to new public road
connections to Route 178 Freeway on the west side of Mount Vernon
Avenue by addition of an eastbound off-ramp and a westbound on-ramp.
2. That the City Council hereby commits the sum of One
Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) for funding, in the 1977-1978
fiscal year capital improvement budget, a portion of the cost of
construction of new public road connections to Route 178 Freeway
on the west side of Mount Vernon Avenue by addition of an eastbound
off-ramp and a westbound on-ramp.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution be trans-
mitted forthwith to the State of California Highway Commission.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 20th day of September, 1976, by the
following vote:
