RESOLUTION NO. 63-76
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA, AUTH-
ORIZING CERTAIN OF ITS MEMBERS TO FILE
A WRITTEN ARGUMENT FOR A CITY MEASURE
WHEREAS, an election is to be held in the City of
Bakersfield, on November 2, 1976, at which there will be
submitted to the qualified electors of said City the follow-
ing City measure:
Shall the City of Bakersfield incur a bonded
indebtedness in the 'principal sum of $15,500,000
for the acquisition of all Kern River water, water
rights, waterworks and water facilities of Tenneco
West, Inc., Kern Island Water Company and Kern
River Canal and Irrigating Company described in
the Acquisition Agreement entered into by the City
as of April 12, 1976, and all expenses incidental
to or~connected with the authorization, issuance
and sale of the bonds?
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Bakersfield
DOES HEREBY resolve, determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1. That this City Council, being the legis-
lative body of said City, hereby authorizes
Councilman Barton, Councilman
Bleecker, CounCilman Medders,
Councilman Christensen, Councilman
Rogers, Councilman Sceales, and
Councilman Strong.
being all of the members of said body, to file a written argu-
ment for the City measure set forth in the recitals here-
of in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 3, Division 4 of the
Elections Code of the State of California and to change said
argument until and including the date fixed by the City Clerk
after which no arguments for or against said City measure
may be submitted to said City Clerk.
