HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 56-76RESOLUTION NO. ~56-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OFTHE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS '~rHITE LANE NO. 9," PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD. WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the City of Bakersfield on the 3d day of August, 1976, requesting that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory, and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized assess- ment roll of the County of Kern. NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as follows: A portion of the east one-half (E 1/2) of Section Eighteen (18), Township Thirty (30) South, Range Twenty-Eight (28) East, Mount Diablo Meridian, being in the County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Co~Lmxencing at the center of said section, also being the intersection of the center lines of Monitor Street and White Lane, and shown as a witness corner, 30 feet south of the southwest corner of Lot 8 of said section, as shown on the Kern County Sales Map No. 1 of the Lands of J. B. Haggin, on the map of Tract No. 2294 recorded in the office of the County Recorder of said county in Book 10 of Maps on page 206, thence north 89°51'11'' east, 710.00 feet to a point on the Corporate Boundary of the City of Bakersfield and the True Point of Beginning of this description; thence (1)'north 00o01'27'' west, along said Corporate Boundary, also being the east line of said Tract No. 2294, 1321.87 feet to point on the center line of Merrimac Avenue as shown on the map of said Tract No. 2294 and also being on the north line of the aforesaid Lot 8; thence (2) north 89°51'15'' east, continuing along said Corporate Boundary, being also the last-said north line, 610.36 feet to the northeast corner of said Lot 8; thence leaving said Corporate Boundary, (3) south 00001'38'' east~ alon~ the east line of said Lot 8, 559.50 feet; thence (4) south 89 51'15' west, 305.39 feet; thence (5) south 00001'27'' east, 817.37 feet to a point on the south right-of-way line of White Lane; thence (6) south 89°51'11'' west,along said south right-of-way line, 305.00 feet to a point on said Corporate Boundary; thence (7) north 00001'27'' west, along said Corporate Boundary, 55.00 feet to the True Point of Beginning; Containing 13.563 acres, more or less. That a designation appropriately naming such territory is '~hite Lane No. 9." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Monday, the 20th day of September, 1976, at the hour of 8 P.
