AND MODERATE-INCOME FAMILIES RESIDING IN AND L~EING iD! SPLACE~'nBY REDEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA PROPOSED TO BE ADDED TO THE DOWNTOWN BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT. WHEREAS, the Bakersfield Redevelopment Agency and the City Council are considering the addition of land to the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment Project by way of amendment to the Amended Redevelopment Plan for the Project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 33385 of the California Com- munity Redevelopment Law, the City Council is required to-call upon residents and existing community organizations in the area proposed to be added to the Project to form an advisory body known as a project area committee, in the event that a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families are to be displaced by redevelopment acti- vities in that area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD AS FOLLOWS: The City Council hereby finds and determines that: 1. A substantial number of low- and moderate-income families do not reside in the area proposed to be added to the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment Project, and, therefore, a sub- stantial number of low- and moderate-income families are not to be displaced by redevelopment activities in that area. 2. Pursuant to the provisions of' the California Community Redevelopment Law, a project area committee need not be formed. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 26th day of July, 1976, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN ~, BLEECKER, CHRISTENSE.
