HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 49-76RESOLUTION NO. 49-76_ A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD CONFIRMING THE REPORT OF THE BUILDING DIRECTOR RE ASSESSMENTS OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES IN THE CITY FOR DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS. WHEREAS, the properties in the City of Bakersfield, described by Assessor parcel number and street address in Exhibit '~," attached hereto and incorporated by this reference herein, were determined to be dangerous buildings under Chapter 3 of the Uniform Building Code, Volume IV (Dangerous Buildings) 1967 Edition, and the Uniform Code For The Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1973 Edition; and WEREAS, notices and orders of P. L. White, Building Director of the City of Bakersfield, as provided in Chapter 4 of the above-specified codes, were mailed to the record owners of the aforementioned properties; and WHEREAS, the properties in question were duly posted as provided in Chapter 4 of said codes; and WHEREAS, the demolition of the buildings was paid out of the Repair and Demolition Fund as provided for by Chapter 8 of the said codes; and WHEREAS, this assessment proceeding was duly noticed and a hearing held on June 28, 1976, in the Council Chambers of the City of Bakersfield. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED b y the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. That the Report on Assessment For Demolition of Dangerous Buildings of P. L. White, Building Director, attached hereto as Exhibit '~," including the assessments therein set forth, are hereby confirmed. 2. That the property owners named in said.Exhibit '~" may pay or cause to be paid the charges stated therein at the office of the Finance Department, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, at any time before 5 o'clock p.m., July 30, 1976. 3. That in the event such charges assessed and confirmed against the individual properties as listed in Exhibit "A," are not paid within Such time, such assessments shall be appropriately recorded on the assessment roll, and said assessment shall constitute a special assessment against and a lien upon the property. o0o .......... REPORT ON ASSESSMENT FOR DEMOLITION OF DANGEROUS BUILDINGS In the matter of demolishing and removing of dangerous buildings in the City of Bakersfield, California,.as provided by Chapter 8 and 9 of Volume IV of the Uniform Building Code, 1967 Edition, and Uniform Code For The Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1973 Edition, and pursuant to my order as Building Director. I, P. L. White, Building Director of the said City of Bakersfield, do hereby certify that contractors have performed the work as authorized by me as the Building Director of the City of Bakersfield to demolish and remove 'the dangerous buildings listed upon the attached sheet, and I have accepted the work contracted for and that the amount due for the work performed by said con- tractor, together with incidental costs are listed on the attached sheet, Exhibit '~".
