HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 19-76RESOLUTION NO. 19-76 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD REVISING THE RATE SCHEDULE OF SEWER CHARGES IN THE BROADVIEW SANITATION AREA. WHEREAS, pursuant to Contract of Sale No. 36-68 by and between the Stockdale Development Corporation and the City of Bakersfield, the sewer service rates in the Broadview Sanitation Company Service Area may be revised after the end of the 1975 year; and WHEREAS, paragraph 8 of said Contract No. 36-68 sets out the formula for revision of said rates; and WHEREAS, said rates have not been raised since 1971 and the agreement calls for revision based upon the Consumer Price Index of January-t, 1971, which was 116.8 and which increased to 163.7 as of December 31, 1975; and WHEREAS, the City Council now wishes to adjust the rates pursuant to Contract No. 36-68. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. Sewer service rates in the Broadview Sanitation Company Service Area set forth in Contract No. 36-68 are hereby revised as follows: A. Residential Properties (1) For each single family dwelling containing one toilet--S4.65 per month. (2) For each single family dwelling containing more than one toilet--the charge provided in (1) above plus an addi- tional charge of $1.70 per month for each additional toilet over the first. (3) For residential properties occupied by more than one house or occupied by a multiple dwelling such as an apart- ment, flat, motel, hotel, dormitory, or other housing acco~,m,odation-- $4.65 per month for the first unit (containing only one toilet with an additional charge of $1.70 per month for each additional toilet installed) with an additional charge of $3.40 per month for each additional house or dwelling on the premises and connected to the same service or lateral, set charge to cover the use of one toilet only, and with an added $1.70 per month for each additional toilet in each unit containing more than one toilet. B. Commercial and Industrial Properties (1) For each parcel of property connected to the sewer service the basic charge shall be $4.65 per mont~ applicable when only one toilet is on the premises, and when for said month the consumption of water based upon the water meter reading does not exceed 2,600 cubic feet. For each additional toilet on the said premises, the basic charge shall bel increased by $1.70, and for addi- tional water consumption on said premises the basic charge shall be increased by $3.40 for each additional bracket of usage including 1,300 cubic feet or fraction thereof above the 2,600 cubic feet men- tioned above. The basic charge does not include the use of any com- mercial garbage grinder disposal unit, and for each such disposal unit or units located on the premises a further additional charge of $8.40 per month for each hp. of the aggregate of such units employed shall be made. (2) Laundries. In addition to the basic charge included in (1) above, commercial laundries, exclusive of serve- yourself launderetts, shall pay an additional charge of $4.20 per month for each laundry machine, limited, however, to 35-pound load per machine. (3) Wash Racks. In addition to the basic charge included in (1) above, wash racks shall pay an additional $4.20 charge per month on any premises on which a wash rack is located. (4) BusinesS, Shopping 'Centers and sC~o~ls. Where connection is made to premises occupied by a number of stores or separate buildings, in addition to the basic charge included in (1) above, each store front and separate building shall be charged for an additional $3.40 per month for the first toilet located there and $1.70 per month for each additional toilet. (5) Restaurants. In addition to the basic charge included in (1) above, an additional charge of $4.20 per month shall be made for each commercial dishwasher used. (6) Trailer Courts.
