A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD ORDERING THE VACATION OF
A PORTION OF SONORA STREET LYING BETWEEN
SUMNER AND KENTUCKY STREETS, IN THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, on the 2d day of February, 1976, the Council
of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to the provisions of the
"Street Vacation Act of 1941," being Division 9, Part 3, of the
Steets and Highways Code of the State of California, passed and
adopted its Resolution of Intention No. 912 declaring its intention
to order the vacation of a portion of Sonora Street lying between
Sumner and Kentucky Streets, in the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said Council did fix a time and place for hear-
ing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed vacation,
which said hearing was held on the 8th day of March, 1976, after
notices were duly posted as required by law; and
WHEREAS, this Council after duly considering the matter,
does hereby find and resolve as follows:
1. That that portion of Sonora Street lying between
Sumner and Kentucky Streets, in the City of Bakersfield, County of
Kern, State of California, more particularly described as follows,
is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes:
That portion of Sonora Street within the City of
Bakersfield, County of Kern, State of California,
being 80' in width, lying between the southerly
right-of-way line of Kentucky Street and the
northerly right-of-way line of Sumner Street as
shown on that Map of Kern, Kern County, California
as filed in the office of the County Recorder of
said County, April 10, 1893, in Book 1 of Maps,
page 53; excluding those portions of Sonora
Street previously vacated by (1) the Town of
Kern under Resolution of Intention No. 1 as
recorded in Book 2 of Minutes, page 27 of the
Board of Trustees of the Town of Kern on file
in the office of the City Clerk of said City of
Bakersfield and (2) by said city under Resolution
of Intention No. 833 recorded September 6, 1968,
in Book 4195, page 369 of Official Records, in
the office of said County Recorder.
Excepting and reserving for public utilities
purposes an aerial easement over that portion
of the above-described closing, the uniform
width of 10', the center line of which runs
parallel with and distant southerly 149' from
the northerly boundary of said described closing.
2. That said portion of Sonora Street lying between
Sumner and Kentucky Streets, in the City of Bakersfield, be and
the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public
street purposes subject to and in conformity with said Resolution
of Intention No. 912. Reference to said Resolution of Intention
is hereby made for further particulars.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this
Resolution and shall cause a certified copy hereof, attested by
the Clerk under the seal of the City to be recorded in the office
of the County Recorder of the County of Kern, California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 8th day of March, 1976, by the following
vote:
