A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD CALLING THE NOMINATING MUNICIPAL
ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR, PROVIDING
FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID ELECTION WITH
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE PURPOSE
OF SUBMITTING AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE SALARY
OF MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL TO A REFERENDUM
("THE REFERENDUM ELECTION"), AND THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD
ON JUNE 8, 1976, AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF KERN TO ORDER
THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID ELECTIONS.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 20(J) of the Bakersfield
City Charter, the Nominating Municipal Election for the office of
Mayor of the City of Bakersfield for the full term of four years,
shall be held concurrently with the State of California Direct
Primary Election and the Presidential Primary Election; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Direct Primary Election
will be held on the 8th day of June, 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. That the Nominating Municipal Election for the
office of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby called and
will be held onTuesday, June 8, 1976.
2. That said Nominating Municipal Election for the office
of Mayor of the City of Bakersfield is hereby ordered consolidated
with the City of Bakersfield Referendum. Election and the State of
California Direct Primary Election and the Presidential Primary
Election to be held on Tuesday, June 8, 1976.
3. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern
is hereby requested to make an order,. pursuant to Section 23302 of
the Elections Code of the State of California, consolidating the
Nominating Municipal Election for.the office of Mayor, called for
June 8, 1976, with the State of California Direct Primary Election
and Presidential Primary Election to be held on the same date.
4. That the list of candidates for the office of Mayor
of the City of Bakersfield, as the same is to appear on the ballot,
shall be as follows:
MAYOR
Donald M. Hart
Incumbent
VOTE FOR ONE
5. That within the City of Bakersfield the precincts,
polling places and officers of election for said Nominating
Municipal Election for the office of Mayor shall be the same as
those for said State of California Direct Primary Election and
Presidential Primary Election within the City of Bakersfield, as
more particularly set forth in the Notice of Election to be filed
and published by the County Clerk of the County of Kern, giving
notice of said elections.
6. That the Board of Supervisors of the County of Kern
is hereby authorized to canvass or cause to be canvassed the returns
of said Nominating Municipal Election for the office of Mayor, and
shall certify the results of the canvass of said returns to the
Council of the City of Bakersfield, who shall thereupon declare
the results thereof.
7. That the polls will be open for the purpose of holding
said election on said 8th day of June, 1976, between the hours of
7 A. M. ahd'8 P7 M.' .................................
8. That the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit
and file certified copies of this resolution with the Board of
Supervisors and the County Clerk, as required by Section 23302 of
the Elections Code of the State of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 8th day of March, 1976, by the follow-
ing vote:
