RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD
AMENDING AND REDESIGNATING THE DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT SURVEY
AREA TO INCLUDE ADDITIONAL AREA
WHEREAS, the City Council on December 26, 1967, by Resolution
No. 103-67, designated a redevelopment survey area in Downtown Bakersfield;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council on April 3, 1972, by Resolution No. 17-72,
amended and redesignated said redevelopment survey area to include additional
area; and
WHEREAS, the City Council approved and adopted on August 14, 1972,
by Ordinance No. 2033, the Redevelopment Plan for the Downtown Bakersfield
Redevelopment Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council on May 13, 1974, by Resolution No. 36-74,
again amended and redesignated said redevelopment survey area to include
additional area; and
WHEREAS, the City approved and adopted on November 25, 1974, by
Ordinance No. 2216, amendments to the Redevelopment Plan, which amendments
included providing for the addition of !and to the Downtown Bakersf.ield
Redevelopment Project; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires that said redevelopment survey
area again be amended and redesignated to include additional area, and that
such additional area be studied to determine if an expansion of the boundaries
of the Redevelopment Project by amendment to the Amended Redevelopment Plan
is feasible; and
WHEREAS, the redevelopment activities might be initiated in such
additional area should it be found that the expansion of the boundaries of
the Redevelopment Project by amendment to the Amended Redevelopment Plan is
feasible.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AS FOLLOWS:
1. The City Council hereby amends and redesignates the Downtown
Redevelopment Survey Area in the ~.i:ty of Bakersfield to include the additional
area illustrated on the map attached hereto and labelled as Exhibit "A" and
described generally within the area bounded by the easterly right-of-way line
of N Street on the west, the southerly right-of-way line of the Route 178 Freeway
on the north, the easterly right-of-way line of R Street on the east, and the
southerly boundary of Truxtun Avenue on the souther.
2. The City Council hereby finds that said additional area requires
study to determine if an expansion of the boundaries of the Downtown Bakersfield
Redevelopment Project by amendment to the Amended Redevelopment Plan is feasible.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 22rid day of December 1975, by the
