HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 74-75RESOLUTION NO. 74-75 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD ADOPTING THE SEISMIC SAFETY ELEMENT OF THE BAKERSFIELD METROPOLITAN AREA GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, Section 65302 of the Government Code of the State of California requires the inclusion in the General Plan, of a Seismic Safety Element; and WHEREAS, such Seismic Safety Element, consisting of text only, has been prepared and placed on file in the office of the City Clerk and the Planning Department for inspection by the pub lic; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Bakers- field, on October 15, 1975, by its Resolution No. 7-75, approved said Seismic Safety Element, after notice and hearing as required by law and transmitted such Seismic Safety Element to the City Council for further action in accordance with Article 6, Chapter 3 of Title 7 (commencing with Section 65350) of the Government Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 65351 and 63355 of the Government Code, due notice of the time and place of a public hearing before the City Council was given, to wit, by publishing such notice in the Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper of general circulation, on October 28, 1975; and WHEREAS, the City Council held and conducted a public hearing, in every respect in accordance with the published notice and the law, on November 17, 1975, for the purpose of hearing any person desiring to be heard on the matter of the adoption of the adoption of the Seismic Safety Element of the Bakersfield Metro- politan Area General Plan. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1. That the attached Seismic Safety Element of the Bakersfield Metropolitan Area General Plan, consisting of text only, is hereby adopted. 2. That [he Clerk of this Council shall endorse in writing on said Seismic Safety Element document to show that it was adopted by the City Council on November 17, 1975. 3.
