A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD. DESIGNATING THE PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR AS THE TRAFFIC AUTHORITY.
WHEREAS, Section 11.04.020(o) of the Municipal Code
defines Traffic Authority as "an officer of the City of Bakersfield
designated by the City Council, which designation shall be by
resolution of the City Council"; and
WHEREAS, the Council has heretofore designated the Chief
of Police as the Traffic Authority by its Resolution No. 4-54,
dated January 25, 1954, and now desires to rescind such Resolution
and designate the Public Works Director as the Traffic Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of
the City of Bakersfield as follows:
1. Resolution No. 4-54 adopted by the Council on
January 25, 1954, is hereby rescinded.
2. The Public Works Director of the City of Bakersfield
is hereby designated as the Traffic Authority.
3. The powers granted to or duties imposed upon the
Traffic Authority may be exercised or performed by an officer or
employee of the Public Works Department as authorized by the Public
Works Director.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 12[h day of May, 1975, by the following
vote:
