HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 74-74RESOLUTION NO. 74-74 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DETERMINING THAT A SUBSTANTIAL NUMBER OF LOW- AND MODERATE-INCOME FAMILIES ARE NOT TO BE DISPLACED BY THE DOWNTOWN BAKERSFIELD REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT (AS PRESENTLY EXISTING AND AS PROPOSED TO BE EXPANDED). WHEREAS, the boundaries for the Project area and the expanded Project area for the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment Project have been selected by the Planning Commission as required by law; and WHEREAS, it is contemplated that all of the property in said Project area (as presently existing and as proposed to be expanded) will be used for commercial purposes and that all of the residents in said Project area (as presently existing and as proposed to be expanded) will be displaced by said Project; and WHEREAS, the Community Redevelopment Law provides that the legislative body of a city shall call upon the residents and existing community organizations in a redevelopment project area, in which a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families are to be displaced by a redevelopment project, to form a project area committee for said project; and WHEREAS, five (5) low- and moderate-income families and fifteen (15) low- and moderate-income individuals reside in the Project area (as presently existing and as proposed to be expanded) and will be displaced by the Project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: That it is hereby found and determined that, pursuant to the Community Redevelopment Law, a substantial number of low- and moderate-income families are not to be displaced by the Downtown Bakersfield Redevelopment Project (as presently existing and as proposed to be expanded), o0o ..........
