A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING
PROTESTS BY PERSONS OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "AKERS NO. 2," PROPOSED
TO BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council of the
City of Bakersfield on the 16th day of August, 1974, requesting
that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed
to and incorporated within the City of Bakersfield; and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such
territory, and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the
assessed value of such territory according to the last preceding
equalized assessment roll of the CoUnty of Kern.
NOW, THEREFORE, in compliance with the provisions of the
Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939, Chapter 297, as
amended, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
That the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be
annexed to the City of Bakersfield are described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of the southwest quarter of the southeast
quarter of Section 11, Township 30 South, Range 27 East, M.D.B. & M.
and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the east line of the west
45 feet of said southeast quarter and the north line of the south
45 feet of said southeast quarter, said point being in the Corporate
Boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
Thence (1) assuming a bearing of N 89°24'15"W for the south line
of said Section 11, departing from said Corporate Boundary,
N 00°10'53"E, along the last-named east line, 281.32 feet to
intersect the northwest corner of Lot 23, Tract No. 2650, as said
lot and tract are shown on a map recorded in Book 14 of Maps, at
Page 13, records of said County;
Thence (2) S 89°49'07"E along the north line of last-named lot and
easterly prolongation 615.44 feet, more or less, to intersect the
east line of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of the
southeast quarter of said Section 11, said last-named point of
intersection being in the Corporate Boundary of the City of
Bakersfield;
Thence (3) southerly and along the various courses of last-named
Corporate Boundary to the point of beginning.
Containing 4.02 acres, more or less.
That a designation appropriately naming such territory
is "Akers No.
BE IT FlIRTHER RESOIVED that Monday, the 7th day of
October, 1974, at the hour of 8:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers
of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, is
the time when and the place where any person owning real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
objections to the proposed annexation may appear before the Council
of the City of Bakersfield and show cause why such territory should
not be annexed.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 26th day of August, 1974, by the
following vote:
