HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 67-74 RESOLUTION NO. 67?74 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD INCREASING THE COMPENSATION TO PRIVATE REFUSE COLLECTOR UNDER CONTRACT NO. 65-72, EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 1974. WHEREAS, the City did on July 28, 1972, enter into a con- tract (No. 65-72) with Consolidated Waste Removal Division, Darling- Delaware Company, Inc. of 3676 Dalbergia Street, San Diego, California, for the collection, removal and disposal of all refuse from places within the area shown (Area No. 1) on Exhibit "B", attached to such written contract; and WHEREAS, said Collector is entitled, under said contract, to be paid by the City upon the basis of the rates shown in the Rate Schedule, shown on Exhibit "C", attached to such written contract, less six percent (6%) of the gross amount as calculated in accordance with such contract; and WHEREAS, Contract No. 65-72 requires the City to review the compensation agreed to be paid at the beginning of the third year of the Contract on the basis of the Consumer Price Index for the two years preceding such review, the City reserving the right to increase the compensation to said Collector by increasing the percentage of the gross amount as calculated based upon such review, by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Public Works Department has made the required review and based thereon, recommended that the compensation payable to the Collector be increased by establishing the percentage of the gross amount, as calculated under the terms of the contract, at 16.57o; and that the formula for arriving at such increased compensa- tion shall be as follows: Gross amount as calculated under contract $ Percentage Adj us tment 16. Sub - to t al Less 6.0% Total Due NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: 1.
