A RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA~ AWARDING
THE CONTRACT FOR DOING THE WORK IN 'PUBLIC
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 854," PURSUANT TO A
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION ADOPTED BY SAID CITY
COUNCIL ON THE 28TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1970.
WHEREAS, the City Clerk under the direction of the City
Council, did in open session on the 24th day of November, 1970,
publicly open, examine and declare all sealed 'proposals or bids,
for doing the following work in said City, to wit:
and
For the construction of curbs, gutters, sidewalks,
driveway approaches and necessary drainage
facilities adjacent to Lots 1 through 90, Tract
No. 1171; Lots 88 through 131, Tract No. 1232,
and the south 135 feet of the block bounded by
Owens, Murdock, Robinson Streets, and Virginia
Avenue.
WHEREAS, all of said bids having been duly considered
by said City Council, ~nd it appearing to said City Council that
the lowest regular responsible bidder for doing the said work is
JOE C. BROWN.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, that said City Council does hereby reject all
of said 'proposals or bids except as herein mentioned and does
hereby award the contract for the doing of said work and said
improvements to the lowest regular responsible bidder, to wit:
JOE C. BROWN, at the prices and under the conditions named in the
bid of said bidder, on file in the office of the City Clerk of the
City of Bakersfield, conditioned upon the execution of a contract
pursuant tq the conditions set forth within Chapter 9 of The
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California beginning
with Section 5240.
That the City Clerk of the City of Bakers field is hereby
directed to publish notice of award of contract twice in the
Bakersfield Californian, a daily news'paper 'printed, published, and
of general circulation in the City of Bakersfield, California,
hereby designated for that purpose; and
That the City Clerk is further directed upon payment of
the statutory fees 'prescribed therefor, to record a notice of the
award of contract in the office of the County Recorder, all in
the manner and form provided by law~
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 30th day of November, 1970,
by the following vote:
