A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF BAKERSFIELD IN MEMORI~LM TO CLYDE
MALLACHOWITZ.
WHEREAS, Clyde E. Mallachowitz served the railroad
industry with loyalty and competence for half a century, and
WHEREAS, Clyde Mallachowitz was beloved and respected by
his fellowmen in the several civic and fraternal organizations to
which he belonged, and
WHEREAS, Clyde Mallachowitz was widely known in and around
the City of Bakersfield as an alert critic and an able commentator
on events and persons in the community scene, and
WHEREAS, his attendance at and participation in meetings
of the Bakersfield City Council were so regular as to cause him to
be referred to as "Honorary Councilman", and
WHEREAS, however severe his criticisms and stinging his
rebukes, no adversary could fail to admit that his motives were
constructive and intended to be in the best interests of the City
and community in which he lived, and
WHEREAS, death took Clyde E. Mallachowitz on September
16, 1970.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of
Bakersfield by this resolution does hereby express its sincere
sympathy to the family and friends of Clyde E. Mallachowitz at
this time of personal and public loss and bereavement.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
at a regular meeting thereof held on the 21st day of September,
1970, by the following vote:
