HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES NO 49-70RESOLUTION N0., 49-?0 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER A MODIFICATION OF ASSESSMENT ROLL NO. 246 AND THE ASSESSMENT DIAGRAM FOR PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT 839.AND SETTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR PUBLIC HEARING THEREON. WHEREAS, the amount of the assessment assessed against Lot 83, Tract 1232, Book 5 of Maps, Page 76 as its share of the cost of the work performed pursuant to Resolution of Intention 839 was split into two equal assessments of $142.34 designated Assessments No. 89 and 90 and levied against "a 1/2 interest in Lot 83"; and WHEREAS, the Assessment Diagram for Public Improvement District No. 839 shows Lot 83 to be encumbered by Assessments No. 89 and 90; and WHEREAS, bonds have been issued to represent Assessments No. 89 and 90; and WHEREAS, it is now desired and necessary to consolidate said Assessments No. 89 and 90 on Lot 83 into a single assessment of $284.68 to be hereinafter known as Assessment No. 89A and to reflect said change on the Assessment Diagram and to issue a new bond therefor representing this unpaid assessment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That notice is hereby given that on the 17th day of August, 1970, at the hour of 8:00 P. M. in the Chambers of the City Council in City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, any person having an interest in Lot 83 or Assessments No. 89-and 90 who have any objection to said proposed modification may appear before the City Council at said hearing and show cause why said assessment should not be modified in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests must be prepared in writing, delivered to the City Clerk of said City not later than the day and hour set for hearing. SECTION 2. The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption of this Resolution of Intention at least 15 days prior to the date set herein for public hearing to the owners of Lot 83, Tract 1232, Book 5 of Maps, Page 76 subject to Assessments No. 89 and 90 located within the district assessed whose names and addresses appear in the last equalized assessment roll or as known to said City Clerk. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 20th day of July, 1970, by the following vote: AYES= COUNCILMEN BLEECKER, HTEISEY, REES, RUCKER, STIERN, VETTER, WHITTF.
